Lucknow: GD Goenka Public School in Lucknow marked a significant milestone with the inauguration of its new NCC office and the commencement of enrolment for the 2024-25 session. The event was graced by Col. Puneet Srivastava, Chairman of the school Sarvesh Goel and Principal Dr Prerna Mitra.
The enrolment drive, which took place at the school’s premises, aimed to recruit cadets for both the Junior Division (JD/JW) and Senior Division (SD/SW) wings of the NCC. The rigorous selection process involved a series of evaluations including physical fitness tests, a written examination, and personal interviews conducted by Col. Puneet Srivastava.
For the Junior Division, 50 seats were available and attracted a total of 80 students from classes VIII and IX. In contrast, the Senior Division had 23 seats open, with 33 students vying for these positions. The competition was intense, underscoring the high level of interest and commitment among the students.
The inauguration ceremony featured a formal ribbon-cutting by the distinguished guests, followed by an orientation session outlining the objectives and benefits of NCC participation. The establishment of the NCC office at GD Goenka Public School signifies a step forward in fostering discipline, leadership, and community service among the youth.
The selection outcomes and further details of the NCC activities will be communicated to the applicants in due course. This initiative is expected to enhance the school’s contribution to national service and build a strong foundation for the cadets’ personal and professional growth.
